Interview with Alan
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
After work, I love being outdoors – no matter the season. When the sun is shining, I cool off in the lake or explore trails on my mountain bike. In winter, I hit the slopes, and hiking is always a good idea!
Are there any events or traditions that you particularly like at the TIMETOACT GROUP or in your company?
Ever since I joined CLOUDPILOTS, we’ve had an annual team trip.
For a few days, we put work aside and enjoy activities like swimming in Austria, exploring the city in Berlin, relaxing in a wellness hotel – we even went archery shooting once. It’s always a highlight to see everyone in one place and catch up.
Since we work in a decentralized setup across multiple countries – and now mostly remotely – these trips and the yearly kickoff at the beginning of the year provide great opportunities to connect and have fun together.
If you could give your former self one tip regarding professional development, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to take the leap into the cloud world sooner. The entire field offers so many exciting opportunities, and the earlier you get started, the quicker you can gain valuable experience.
What skills do you think are particularly important in your working environment?
In my line of work, patience and a fundamental interest in processes and technology are essential. Also, being able to ask the right questions and occasionally challenge existing structures is often crucial and helps drive change.
What tip would you give future colleagues?
If you’re motivated to work with the leading cloud platforms – and want to do so in an amazing team – then you’ve come to the right place.
